The PV Hikers are taking a 3-4 mile hike in Eaton Canyon, using a trail on the West side of the canyon. It is a trail rather than a road and has some challenges in terms of rocks (not boulders) and one water crossing. Poles are recommended. We will walk along the canyon towards the waterfall, but stop and turn back when we feel the trail is too difficult (boulders!!). Rather than return on the same trail, we have the choice of returning to the cars by way of Altadena Drive (and get a peek at some grand houses bordering the canyon) or taking a longer walk on the road to the Eaton Canyon entrance. (I will arrange for someone to leave a car in that parking lot so that we can be taken back to our cars on Altadena Drive)We will stop to revive ourselves at a coffee shop in Altadena.
We will not meet at the Village. We will meet at the intersection of N Altadena Drive and Roosevelt. You will see cars parked on a deep verge against the canyon fence on N Altadena Drive. It is easiest to park on Roosevelt.
To beat the sun, please arrive by 7:30 am. I walked this trail this morning and was glad I started early.
Please let me know if you are planning to join us.
